Concept : Mots en -ISH = -IR (2e groupe)

Instructions
You already know hundreds and hundreds of French words!
French and English share the same root languages: Greek and Latin.
Both languages are about 40% Greek and 40% Latin, which means they are roughly 80% the same at the root level.
Let’s check it out!

Today’s focus: Words ending in -ISH often become -IR verbs in French (second group).

Exercice 1 – Mixed Fill in the French word

1. Je vais mon devoir à Ottawa.
= I am going to finish my homework in Ottawa.
2. Nous voulons un nouveau record.
= We want to establish a new record.
3. Tu peux cette mission.
= You can accomplish this mission.
4. L'équipe va la vieille cabane.
= The team will demolish the old cabin.
5. Il faut le trophée.
= We need to polish the trophy.
6. Le chef va le plat.
= The chef will garnish the dish.
7. Nous voulons les mauvaises habitudes.
= We want to abolish bad habits.
8. Il ne faut pas nos amis du groupe.
= We must not banish our friends from the group.
9. Je vais ces souvenirs.
= I will cherish these memories.
10. Le professeur ne va pas l'élève.
= The teacher is not going to punish the student.

= We need to feed the animals.
12. Les plantes vont au printemps.
= The plants will flourish in spring.
13. Le magasin va le matériel.
= The store will furnish the material.
14. Le guerrier va son épée.
= The warrior will brandish his sword.
15. Ne pas sans espoir.
= Do not languish without hope.
16. Les héros ne vont pas dans l'aventure.
= The heroes will not perish in the adventure.
17. Je vais le niveau du jeu.
= I will finish the game level.
18. Nous voulons un club à Ottawa.
= We want to establish a club in Ottawa.
19. Tu peux le grand défi.
= You can accomplish the big challenge.
